We often question God, bash God for our misfortunes, pain and sorrows. As people we tend to focus on the bad, why is this happening to me? Where is God when I am suffering? But ask yourself this, if you can fully acknowledge that God exists and He is there, then why would you ignore that the devil exists also? And what part did you play? We look at God as the root and cause of all our problems and fail to look at ourselves in reflection. James 1:2-4 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. The Bible also tells us that ‘The Lord is near to the broken-hearted and saves the crushed in spirit.’ Psalm 34:18. We sometimes as Christians also tend to read one section of a verse and forget about the rest of the chapter. we choose to ignore and not think about our actions because we don’t was the responsibility of being held accountable for them, it’s much easier to blame God when He can’t answer anyway right?
Ephesians 6:12 (NKJV)
12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
But Christ has already paved the way for us, he says, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in darkness, but will have the Light of life” John 8:12. Take you problems to the foot of the cross and lay them at Christ’s feet, take responsibility for your part in everything you have done but above all, whether your heart is broken or filled with grief, give God the praise for what He has done. Praise him through sorrow, your tears, your grief, your broken heart and our worries. He is bigger than all of it. I am still learning to trust in Him, to lean solely on Him and to let Him into each area of my life and trust that He will take care of me fully. its difficult because we believe that this will make us feel out of control and its the fear and lack of trust that drives a wedge in man’s relationship with God. We lack the understanding that he is bigger than all of our problems and we can say these things with our lips but we need to believe with our hearts that he will fix it, he will heal your heart, he will take care of your family, and he will look after you at university whilst you are away from family.
Philippians 4:19 (NKJV)
19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Before Christ I was in darkness, I knew nothing else but the darkness and He pursued me, because I was bought with a price, because I am HIS. I know this because He tells me in 1 peter 2:9 that I am part of ‘ a CHOSEN race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellences of Him how has called you out of darkness into His marvellous light.’ A sinner as wretched as I am, loved and sought after by the ETERNAL KING of the universe, who paid the price that I should have on the cross and is offering salvation to me FOR FREE. Trust in Him, take the deal. I Did. ‘Psalms 119:67 Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept your word’…..well trying to at least.
